StubHub says I owe 2500 - totally unethical
Hi, I am a loyal stubhub user since 2008. I love the service and have bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of tickets through stubhub.
Three months ago, I erroneously posted Hamilton tickets (I think it was a site error- I did not realize I posted them) I got an email saying they were sold and I called stub hub immediately to tell them what happened. I was disconnected several times and on hold for hours. I am a psychologist and I had to cancel a day of work to get through to the stub hub office. I explained what happened and I was told they would remove the charges.
I then got an email the next day day saying they would not remove the charges of 1500 dollars ( I think the tickets were listed for 600-800 dollars) I called the next day (again for several hours) and was told the charges would be removed. This is the last I though about it. THREE months later I get a email in my spam box saying I owe upwards of 2500 to stub hub. I thought it was a phishing scam so I emailed stub hub and let them know about this and asked to to make sure the charges were removed.
About a week later, I received an email from collections say I owe 2500 dollars. I will take this to the news, social media and legally.
Stubhub is criminal and I have given this company the benefit of the doubt for many years - a few years back, the system was down and I could not get access to the Giant's tickets I bought for my 10 year olds birthday! Horrible horrible
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $2500.
Preferred solution: please remove the debt to the collection agency.
